"I found the course stimulating, interesting and very thorough, with excellent teaching methods and support."
Having worked for 22 years in Traffic Management and facing redundancy, Jacky decided to look at alternative career options in Nutrition.
Until September 2011 I had been working for 22 years in the Traffic Management section of Highway Engineering for the local council. I enjoyed solving problems and the ‘people’ side of my work but had become increasingly aware that solving contentious parking ‘problems’ did not feel like a fulfilling use of my working life!
So, when facing redundancy, I decided to look into an alternative career in nutrition, something I had always been drawn to. I have always had a love of good food and how it works in the body and have found myself drawn to information, articles and programmes about nutrition. I am particularly interested in the problems people face when trying to lose weight and, having looked at various courses, decided the Nutrition Diploma ticked all the boxes.
Why the Future Fit School of Nutrition?
I chose to study with Future Fit because I liked the look of their course, the fact it was online and, having had an initial chat with an adviser, I liked the Future Fit approach. As it turned out, the style of learning was ideal for me. I enjoyed it and was surprised by the in-depth course content. I found the course stimulating, interesting and very thorough, with excellent teaching methods and support. I passed in April 2012 and embarked (part time initially) on a new career based on what I’d learnt with Future Fit.
My current role
I have my own complementary therapy business www.wellbeans.co.uk with my partner and I am now mainly a Bowen Technique Therapist, but continue to see at least four clients weekly for one-to-one nutritional weight management advice. I enjoy my work and find it very rewarding to help people reach their goals.
