No. We do not offer short courses. Our graduates are recognised as being the best in the industry because we prepare students to do more than just pass a qualification. However, students can also set their own training hours and they will be qualified to work in the industry as soon as they successfully pass each module/assessment. For Level 2 Gym Instructor Course, students normally take three months, including home study and practical elements. For Level 3 Personal Training Diploma, most students take up to 6 months to fully qualify and then they are ready to charge £30/hour. We will continue to upskill them for another 6 months. This diploma also includes home study and practical weekends to attend.

It is difficult to give a definitive answer because every student is different. Some students are able to study full-time, some can commit 16 hours per week – others only 6-8 hours. You may want to mix intensive periods of study with ‘rest’ periods to fit around work and family commitments.
Also, you may be happy to attend courses in any location, giving you a greater choice of courses dates, while others may not. This is why we like to spend time designing your training plan with you before you enrol with us so that it fits around your commitments and the time you can dedicate to study.
Possibly! Courses of the same name vary between education providers and for this reason we cannot give a blanket answer. We are required by the awarding bodies to consider each student's application on an individual basis against criteria specified by the awarding bodies. We have a team of experienced professionals who will guide you through the process.
You may be able to miss out entire courses or skip some or all of the learning and go straight to the assessment for certain courses. This is decided on a case by case basis and will require you to provide evidence of relevant prior learning. We have a team of experienced professionals who will consider your qualifications and experience against the criteria specified by the awarding bodies and guide you through the process.
During your training, you will be supported by your dedicated training coordinator and our team. You will also be given access to our Student Zone, a study area that is personalised to the courses and diplomas that you have chosen.
We have a dedicated preferential interview scheme in partnership with some of the country’s top health clubs and gyms. This scheme will enable you to get a foot in the door for your future career. We are continually adding to our guaranteed interviews partners, so you can find information on a range of options available to you once you qualify.
With an hourly range between £12 for new starters and £100 for elite personal trainers, you can earn a decent amount from day one of your new career. For more details read this exclusive research on personal trainer salary.
You can start working as a personal trainer to build your experience as soon as you have successfully completed the following courses with us: Anatomy and Physiology, Advanced Anatomy and Physiology, Gym Instructor, Level 3 Exercise Programming and Coaching and Nutrition and Weight Management.
This is the minimum requirement to achieve Level 3 (Personal Trainer) status on the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs). However, these courses alone will not give you sufficient expertise to sustain a career in the industry or make a good living in the long term, which is why we’ve included a comprehensive range of additional courses in our diplomas.
Yes. In addition to nutritionists and dieticians, the NHS employs a range of health professionals that provide nutrition advice including health trainers, dietetic assistant practitioners and community food workers. You can search for jobs on the NHS jobs website using ‘nutrition’ as a keyword. Tip: ensure that you tick the box to search the whole advert rather than the advert title. This will ensure you see all of the most relevant results.
Our Nutrition and Weight Management Course contains lesson plans and resources for running an 8-week weight management course. This can be used with both groups and individuals.
All of the School of Nutrition courses are online which means that you can study at a time and pace to suit you. If you can spare just 6 hours per week you can complete the Diploma in Weight Loss Management in less than 20 weeks. If you have more free time to study, then you can complete the diploma in a much shorter timeframe.
There are no formal or mandatory requirements, other than being at least 16 years old.
It would be beneficial if you had experience of weight management and nutrition by attending professional classes. If you don't have the experience, that's not a problem - you will just need to ensure that you give yourself more time to complete the home-study activities.
In order to become a Nutritionist, you will need a university degree accredited by the Association for Nutrition. Once completed, you will be eligible to join the UK Voluntary Register of Nutritionists (UKVRN). Through Future Fit's wide range of Nutrition courses, we aim to provide an alternative yet comprehensive path to becoming a Nutrition professional. For more information why not read our article on how to become a Nutritionist.
Our Nutrition and Weight Management Course contains a lesson dedicated to marketing your services as a nutrition adviser with lots of useful advice on promoting your business.
You will be able to offer advice to adults who are generally healthy and need help improving their diet and losing weight. You can run your own weight loss consultancy offering individual or group sessions to help people to successfully manage their dietary intake and achieve health and weight loss goals.
If you complete our Advanced Diploma in Nutrition and Weight Management you will also be able to advise on sports nutrition, pre and post-natal nutrition as well as childhood nutrition.
You won’t be able to work with individuals who need specialist dietary advice due to a medical condition. This is the role of a dietician.
You will be fully equipped to work as a nutrition and weight loss professional. These professional figures are highly sought after in the fitness and nutrition industry.
You can help individuals improve their diet and lose weight through one-to-one consultations or by running weight loss classes. Alternatively, you can use your nutrition skills in a range of job roles such as a community food support worker, dietetic assistant or health trainer.
The nutrition profession encompasses many levels of expertise and a wide variety of career possibilities.
Nutritionists and dieticians have very similar job roles and there is considerable overlap in what they do. In general, dieticians tend to be more clinical and more involved with working with people with diet-related medical conditions. Nutritionists are more likely to work in research, the food industry, community projects and preventative health. However, you do find nutritionists who work in hospitals and dieticians who work in the food industry. Dieticians and nutritionists normally have degree level qualifications.
In addition to nutritionists and dieticians there are nutrition advisers, health trainers, personal trainers, wellness coaches, slimming group leaders and weight loss coaches who all practice nutrition to varying degrees and can have a number of possible qualifications.
Most members of the general public will only get referred to a nutritionist or dietician if they have a relatively serious health problem, yet there are millions of people in the UK who are overweight and suffering the consequences of a poor diet. Nutrition advisers are often much more accessible to the general public and have all the skills needed to advise and motivate individuals on how to eat better, move more, lose weight and improve their health.
When embarking on a career in nutrition it is important to choose a course with a reputable training company. Many companies sell poor quality training courses in nutrition that are not evidence-based and not recognised by any official awarding body. We are proud that our Nutrition and Weight Management course is accredited VTCT and certified by the Association for Nutrition. This means that our students can have full confidence that their training is of the highest quality and will fully equip them for working in the nutrition arena.
Our graduates can obtain insurance to practice as a nutrition adviser from Balens Specialist Insurance Brokers at a cost of £53.00 per year. You can request an application form, once you have graduated, from Student Support.
While you are training you can get student insurance from a company called FitPro in order to teach, but you must declare that you are in training and charge a lower rate than you would if you were a fully qualified Pilates Instructor. You will of course need a proof of training letter from us in order to do this, and it will also be subject to FitPro's eligibility criteria.
Yes, by the end of the standard diploma, you will have been taught all of the original 34 exercises. Your course tutors will have shown you how to modify each of the exercises so that you can teach a mixed ability class, plus you will have experience performing the advanced exercises yourself and learnt the relevant teaching and safety points in preparation for instructing others.
Future Fit Training offers flexible training solutions, which means we build your programme around you, your commitments and the time you can dedicate to study. If your circumstances change, we simply re-work your training plan. Previous students have taken time out to have babies, change jobs, start work – all sorts of reasons.
Most of the theory that underpins the practical part of our courses is delivered via e-learning. This gives you the freedom and flexibility to study wherever and whenever you want. Also, we deliver the largest number of practical mat Pilates courses in the UK, so you should have plenty of course dates to choose from.
The teaching team in the School of Pilates are highly experienced Pilates teachers and expert course tutors. Each tutor must pass a comprehensive teacher training programme within the School of Pilates to ensure you get the high quality tuition our reputation is built on. They’ll provide you with the knowledge and information you need to achieve your goals and will do everything they can to support and help you succeed.
This is entirely your choice. If you are new to the fitness industry and ‘testing the water’, our advice would be to complete the standard Diploma in the first instance. This will give you the chance to learn and achieve each part of the Diploma at a pace that suits you. If you are already a fitness trainer or Personal Trainer, we suggest you complete the Specialist Diploma as this will give you additional qualifications straight away to offer your client base and open further opportunities to you.
When paying by instalments you must ensure that you have banked enough in advance to cover the cost of the next course you wish to study in your diploma.
Our Level 3 Complete Personal Training Diploma and Level 4 Total Immersion Diploma qualifications are recognized by employers internationally and students can also work abroad with REPs and EREPs recognition. The International Confederation of Registers of Exercise Professionals (ICREPs) is a partnership between the various registration bodies which means qualifications gained in those countries are transferable and recognised: UK, Ireland, Europe, USA, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, UAE, Canada.

Anyone from the age of 16 can enrol and complete any of our non-practical e-learning courses. Practical courses can only be attended on or after your 18th birthday but can be enrolled on and booked in advance of this.
Nb. Many gyms will accept applicants of 16 years of age, but be aware that if you are planning to work outside of clubs or leisure centres as a Personal Trainer, an Exercise to Music Instructor or a Pilates Teacher, you may not be eligible for the required insurance until you are 18 years old or over.
For more information on course entry requirements and admissions please contact one of our Careers Advisers who will be happy to answer any of your questions.
The qualification you’ll receive at the end of your course will be awarded by VTCT, which is a Government-approved awarding organisation that develops vocational systems of qualifications. Our courses are also fully REPs and CIMSPA approved. Future Fit Training is actually a founding member of REPs. Membership of REPs enables fitness professionals to prove they have attained an industry recognised level of skill, knowledge and competence in their chosen field of expertise. Being CIMSPA certified means you will work in a respected industry, where standards are regulated, and your qualifications are valued.
The qualification you’ll receive at the end of your course will be awarded by several organisations. First of all, VTCT, which is a Government-approved awarding organisation that develops vocational systems of qualifications. Our courses are also fully certified by the AfN (Association for Nutrition).
The Association for Nutrition holds the UK Voluntary Register of Nutritionists, which is the only register of qualified nutritionists recognised by Public Health England, NHS Choices and NHS Careers.
The Pro Zone is aimed primarily at Personal Trainers as the content is aimed at building on their existing knowledge. However, if you are level 2 trained, such as a Gym Instructor, or working up to your Personal Trainer qualifications, you would still be welcome to join the Pro Zone, but you would need to be aware that some of the content may not be relevant to you or may build on knowledge you have not yet developed.
Students who have previously completed Sports Science or Dance degrees do seem to have an advantage when it comes to studying as there are some elements that they may have touched on in their degree.
Contact our Career Advisers on the numbers at the top of this page and we can discuss your prior qualifications.
You can earn £25-£40 an hour from one-to-one consultations or £80+ an hour running weight loss classes.
You should find it very straightforward to study your e-learning. All you need is a PC, laptop or Mac, a reliable internet connection, headphones or speakers (some courses contain video), and a printer for printing resources (optional).
In order to get the best results from your e-learning, we recommend that you use a device that is less than four years old with a recent version of Windows or MacOS. We also suggest that you use Google Chrome as your default browser.
Our courses will run on smartphones and tablets. However, we strongly recommend that you use a computer or laptop as your main device for studying. Apart from the small screen on a smartphone, writing notes and case studies on a virtual keyboard can be frustrating. Also, streaming e-learning can be a drain on your battery and won’t provide an ideal viewing or learning experience.
In summary, a computer or laptop in a quiet room will enable you to get the best results from your studying.
Launched in 2011, the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA) is the professional development body for the UK’s sport, fitness and physical activity sector and has been awarded chartered status by the Privy Council. CIMSPA provides leadership, support and empowerment for professionals working in sport and physical activity and is the strategic lead for professional development in the sector.
CIMSPA has been tasked by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), backed by Sport England and employers, with leading the sport and physical activity sectors workforce development programme. This will be achieved by creating a clear and rigorous set of employer-led standards for all sport and exercise professionals, with a similar clear and rigorous system for assessment, awarding and validating qualifications.
CIMSPA is recognised as the authoritative, single unified voice for the sector by government departments, key agencies and partners, including Sport England, Public Health England, ukactive, Sport and Recreation Alliance, Sporta and cCLOA. The institute has membership options for everyone working in, or interested in working in, the sport and physical activity world – from student and apprentice through to service director and CEO. CIMSPA already provides a route to chartered status for those working in leisure operations, and is developing similar routes for the whole of the sector. For more information go to www.cimspa.co.uk.
To maintain REPs membership, members will need to earn 24 CPD points every 24 months. CIMSPA members require 10 points per year.
Points can be gained through relevant qualifications, awards and courses. The great news is that many Future Fit Training modules will award you with these vital REPs and CIMSPA CPD credits – click the Health & Fitness Courses link to see what courses you can take.
You can advertise your professional services as a Nutrition and Weight Loss Adviser or Consultant. You won’t be able to call yourself a dietician or nutritionist as this implies you have a relevant degree level qualification.
The Register of Exercise Professionals (REP’s) is a government backed system of self-regulation for all instructors, coaches, trainers and teachers involved in the exercise and fitness industry. Registration is achieved and maintained through qualifications and training programmes that are nationally recognised and are linked to the National Occupational Standards for exercise and fitness. For more information go to www.exerciseregister.org.
It depends on which diploma/course you are looking at enrolling on. Below are some standard options available to pay for your course.

A lot of students just want to study nutrition for their own interest.

Many of our students complete a module then choose to take a study break before continuing to the next one.
If there comes a time when you feel you need a break in your studies this can be arranged by contacting our team of Training Coordinators on the numbers at the top of this page, who will be able to guide you through your options.
(Please note that extension or deferral fees may be applicable and if you are paying by instalments these must still be paid as agreed).
There are no actual tests involved in joining the Pro Zone. However, you will need to complete a simple 3 question test in order to gain CPD points at the end of accredited webinars if you choose to participate. This test should only take a couple of minutes.
Each individual module within your training programme has a specific deadline or time-frame of completion that must be achieved in order to pass. The aim of the deadlines are to encourage you to succeed and ensure that you become qualified. The overall deadline to complete all your courses is 3 years from when you purchased.

In the unfortunate event that you fail an assessment, don't worry, we will fully support you to get back on track with your training and do our utmost to ensure your reassessment is a success. Reassessments may be subject to a small fee - speak to a training co-ordinator to find out more.
Pro Zone is a private community where you can interact and learn from fellow members, including other fitness professionals, Future Fit master trainers and guest partners.
You can look forward to regular videos, articles, discussions, links to useful resources and access to all recorded webinars. Expect to be challenged with follow up tasks and activities to help you implement the knowledge.
Once you have completed your course(s) you will receive your certificate within 6-8 weeks of completion.
Your earnings after qualifying will vary depending on location and what you teach.
As a guide, you should be looking at a rate of approximately £30-£50 per hour working as a Personal Trainer and £35-£50 as a 1-to-1 Pilates teacher (£30-£40 teaching classes in a gym).
Future Fit training programme was very straight forward, but I felt I was missing out by not having any hands-on experience with an actual coach/tutor. A lot of my marks were lower than they could have been due to not fully understanding the subject or item as well as I should, but not having a quick reference point available to verify anything was a drawback.
Mick Jowett 27 04 2019
Future Fit Training is fantastic. From the moment I booked my Indoor Cycle Course the whole process was really smooth and everyone I emailed or spoke to was really helpful. On the day of the course, it was fantastic, I cannot thank Future Fit enough!
Nathalie Edwards 04 04 2019
Did my level 3 personal trainer course with Futurefit. The curriculum is well structured and comprehensive, their online learning and lessons are far superior than other providers. You can get a qualification for cheaper and in a shorter time elsewhere but will never get the deep knowledge what would make you better than an average personal trainer.
Peter Kiss 04 04 2019
Very good and strong courses, with a lot of useful materials for our practical work with clients. The Tests were very strong but good and correct. Good organisation, good t??chers, and successful manager of the Nutrition school. I will recommend this company to anyone.
Carol Danvers 11 08 2019
The Pilates Matwork course was detailed, practical and challenging. The course content was delivered in a variety of ways i.e. online learning and face-to-face suiting learning styles. Scott and his team were very helpful at the end of the phone/online. I was lucky enough to walk straight into a Pilates teaching job as soon as I qualified. Thank-you FutureFit!
Anne-Marie 12 03 2019
I signed up for the Total Immersion with Future Fit and so far have completed my Level 2 & 3 as well as many CPD courses, I just have some Level 4 courses left. Upon reflection of my training so far, I'm not sure that online learning is the best way to go as you don't get the hands-on experience that you really need to build confidence and I did feel a bot lost when I first started working in the industry. However, having said that I have always been very impressed with Future Fit prompt and reliable customer service.
