Unlike other Level 2 courses to become a gym instructor, our course is more similar to a Level 3 Personal Trainer course which means if or when you choose to undertake the higher qualification you are well prepared.
This course is a standalone qualification in itself, enabling you to work as a Gym Instructor, and is also an essential element of the Level 3 Personal Trainer Course qualification. As such it is included within all of our other personal training courses.
The Level 2 Gym Instructor course (sometimes referred to as a Level 2 Fitness Instructor course) is your starting point within the fitness industry and from where you can continue to develop your career as a personal trainer. The Level 2 Certificate in Gym Instructing provides you with foundation level theoretical and practical knowledge to work in a gym or in a fitness environment. This underpinning knowledge is the pre-cursor to the Level 3 Personal Training qualification.
Ideally suited for those with a passion for health and fitness, this course is nationally accredited and once qualified, you will become a gym instructor, also known as a fitness instructor and can gain employment in a gymnasium or fitness centre in the UK or internationally.
The Level 2 Gym Instructor course is worth 20 CIMSPA CPD points.
This newly updated (2020) Level 2 fitness instructing course qualification is fully accredited by the Chartered Institute of Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA) and was one of the first to meet the CIMSPA Professional Standard for Gym Instructor.

This course prepares students to plan and instruct exercise sessions and basic programmes in a gym. Students will learn the principles of exercise prescription and how to teach clients to safely use a variety of equipment.
This module will provide you with the skills and knowledge they need to safely and effectively instruct clients in key functional movement patterns and training principles, with range of equipment found in health club and leisure centre facilities, as well as minimal equipment and bodyweight.
This module covers the safe and effective delivery of group activity prescription (e.g. circuit classes, small group training or boot camps)
Formative assessment is completed at the workshop where teaching practice is observed while students deliver a circuit class
This course is delivered in a blended learning format, i.e. digital e-learning content to support the theoretical elements and practical, tutor-led workshops to hone your practical abilities.

Level 2 Gym Instructor is the very first step into the fitness industry and it allows you to start working and progress onto the Level 3 Personal Trainer Course.
