There are several different styles of Pilates on the market. Future Fit study the original repertoire of Pilates, adapting the exercises to ensure they are usable for the general public and to suit individual needs. Other providers’ style, such as STOTT may vary in tempo, sequencing, breathe patterns and naming of the exercises as they have developed a more contemporary approach. Future Fit stay true to the foundations of the original, classical method.
Each workshop gradually progresses the student in order to develop teaching skills and build on knowledge.
You can teach & instruct Mat Pilates at all Levels.
The Level 3 Mat Pilates Instructor Course will enable you to teach mat Pilates at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels on a one-to-one basis or in group sessions. You will learn through a mixture of e-learning courses and practical workshops.
We are proud that all of our Pilates instructor courses are accredited by VTCT, giving you the prestige of qualifying with an industry-respected qualification at level 3.
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification.
Student who have formal fitness teaching qualifications or a Gym Instructing qualification may be able to advance quicker in this course.
Accreditation of Prior Achievement (APA) certificates will also be considered for this award. For example if a student completed a fundamentals workshop and assessment with another provider they could possibly move straight onto the Pilates Intermediate Course – this needs to be approved by the Pilates Specialist
This course covers the entire repertoire of Mat Work Pilates exercises that were created by Joseph Pilates. The information delivered covers all the required underpinning theory and teaches the original version exercises plus adaptations and modifications of all 34 exercises to ensure that all ages, sizes and abilities can perform this form of exercise.

We recommend a minimum of 6 months teaching experience to gain the most value from this workshop.

While you are training you can get student insurance from a company called Balens in order to teach, but you must declare that you are in training and charge a lower rate than you would if you were a fully qualified Pilates Instructor. You will, of course, need a proof of training letter from us in order to do this, and it will also be subject to eligibility criteria.
Yes, by the end of the standard course, you will have been taught all of the original 34 exercises. Your course tutors will have shown you how to modify each of the exercises so that you can teach a mixed ability class, plus you will have experience performing the advanced exercises yourself and learnt the relevant teaching and safety points in preparation for instructing others.

The teaching team in the School of Pilates are highly experienced Pilates teachers and expert course tutors. Each tutor must pass a comprehensive teacher training programme within the School of Pilates to ensure you get the high quality tuition our reputation is built on. They’ll provide you with the knowledge and information you need to achieve your goals and will do everything they can to support and help you succeed.
As with any other job, income for Pilates Teachers varies according to geographical location, skills and experience. Pilates Teachers are typically paid by the hour from £30 to £100 in either an individual or group setting.
This is entirely your choice. If you are new to the fitness industry and ‘testing the water’, our advice would be to complete the standard Mat Pilates Instructor Course in the first instance. This will give you the chance to learn and achieve each part at a pace that suits you. If you are already a fitness trainer or Personal Trainer, we suggest you complete the Exercise Specialist Pilates Instructor Course as this will give you additional qualifications straight away to offer your client base and open further opportunities to you.
