Diploma in Mat Pilates

Modern lifestyles, which include sitting for long periods in front of computer and television screens, have led to a society plagued with poor posture, weak muscles and high levels of back problems. As a Pilates teacher you can make a real difference to the quality of people’s lives by easing shoulder tension, strengthening core muscles and creating greater body awareness to improve posture.

Comprising three courses, the Diploma in Mat Pilates will enable you to teach Mat Pilates at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels on a one-to-one basis or in group sessions. You will learn through a mixture of highly interactive e-learning exciting courses and practical workshops.

Entry requirements

If you don't already have a recognised teaching qualification and evidence of having passed Level 2 Anatomy and Physiology exam to current standards you can still train to become a Pilates teacher. All you need to do is attend the 3-day Access Mat Pilates course (instead of the 2-day Basic Mat Pilates course) and complete the Anatomy and Physiology e-learning course.

How long will it take?

As a proportion of the diploma is studied via e-learning, the time to complete your training will depend on how much time you can commit to studying. The more time you spend studying the quicker you can qualify.

What will the diploma give me?

  • The ability to teach all levels of mat Pilates
  • A REPs level 3 qualification

With this diploma you will be able to:

  • Teach Pilates on a one-to-one or group-class basis and make a difference to the lives of people in your local area

Earning Potential

£30-£50 per hour (London)

£20-£30 per hour (rest of UK).

Experience?

You need a recognised exercise teaching qualification plus an Anatomy and Physiology qualification covering current standards.
