  • Prerequisites and Entry Requirements

    Participants are required to hold a level 3 award in personal training prior to commencement of this course.

  • Course Content - Part 1

    Part one has 2 topics and looks at the differences between males and females. From physical differences such as anatomical structure and body fat distribution to social and psychological differences that may affect a woman’s training in mainstream gyms, this unit will give insight and a good introduction into how women’s training differs from males.

  • Course Content - Part 2

    Part two has 5 topics:

    • Carbohydrates for training: Carbohydrates are the primary energy source for any activity carried out. Information on how to fuel before, during, and after endurance events, using carbohydrates as the main fuel source is covered, along with calculations to be able to advise specific individuals who are training in endurance activities.
    • Protein for training: Protein requirements significantly change for females, in particular after exercise and during the recovery period. This section explains the benefits, types of different proteins, and the guidelines for women during and after exercise. Calculations are also included to be able to advise specific individuals on how to replenish their protein levels.
    • Listen to your gut: Good gut health not only allows for good digestion to occur, but it can improve energy, immunity, well-being, and decrease levels of inflammation. This section explores the different types of bacteria within the gut, along with ways that these good bacteria can be improved through dietary means. Gastrointestinal stress is also mentioned in the differences between men and women.
    • Hydration: The theory of hydration, how hydration differs in women, and the reasons behind it, along with the best drinks to consume for females for hydration is covered within this section. Hyperhydration is also mentioned, along with how it can be achieved to benefit women with their hydration needs.
    • Supplementation: Some supplements are required at various stages of a female’s life. Iron. Vitamin D, magnesium, and calcium are mentioned, along with the benefits of taking some performance enhancers such as beta-alanine and beetroot juice.
  • Course Content - Part 3

    Part three has 3 topics and is related to training specific female groups. Young women, ante and post-natal, and females moving through menopause and beyond will be covered. You will learn how training can be adjusted during these times for females to gain success at any time in their lives.

  • Taping for Specific Muscles, Joints, and Conditions
    • Introduction to Specific Applications
      Prepares learners to apply foundational knowledge to real-world taping scenarios with a targeted approach.
    • Taping Muscles and Tendons
      Learn strategies to reduce strain, support healing, and prevent re-injury in muscle groups and tendons, with common examples provided.
    • Taping for Joints
      Understand taping protocols for joints such as ankles, knees, shoulders, and wrists—focusing on stability, support, and proprioception.
    • Taping for Specific Conditions
      Explore condition-specific taping, such as for shin splints, plantar fasciitis, tennis elbow, and more, with appropriate techniques and precautions.
    • Taping for Posture
      Learn how taping can assist in posture correction by retraining muscle memory and supporting spinal alignment during movement.
