Nutrition for Older Adults
Gain Specialist Knowledge to Help Older Adults with our CPD Accreditation
This online e-learning course is accredited by CIMSPA.
In this course, you will learn about the specific nutrient requirements of older adults. As the proportion of adults over 65 continues to grow, more and more of your clients will fall into this category. Specialist knowledge of this key demographic is essential for all nutrition advisers.
Malnutrition is a surprisingly common problem in older adults and this course will teach how to screen for it using MUST (malnutrition universal screening tool) as well as how to prevent and manage it. You will also learn about an optimal diet for preventing disease and increase the lifespan of your clients.
This course is suitable for those who work with older adults in any capacity, whether as a nutrition adviser, personal trainer or in a care home setting.
Help make general nutritional recommendations for the elderly population and apply health eating principles to enable older adults to live a full, active life, preserving independence.
Malnutrition costs more than £7.3 billion every year, and over half of these costs are on people over the age of 65. Learn about the impact malnutrition can have on older people's health, and how to prevent it.
Learn about the importance of adequate nutrition to decrease the onset of chronic diseases and to help maintain functional independence.

I had a great time during my training. It was not easy but help was available to get me through. The practical week end sessions were invaluable. I would recommend Future Fit to anyone wanting to become a pilates instructor.

Very good and strong courses, with a lot of useful materials for our practical work with clients. The Tests were very strong but good and correct. Good organisation, good teachers, and successful manager of the Nutrition school. I will recommend this company to anyone.

Did my level 3 personal trainer course with Futurefit. The curriculum is well structured and comprehensive, their online learning and lessons are far superior than other providers. You can get a qualification for cheaper and in a shorter time elsewhere but will never get the deep knowledge what would make you better than an average personal trainer.
