From Corporate Marketing to a Lifelong Passion

Yasemin originally studied marketing in Turkey and worked in a corporate environment for a prolonged period before moving to England around five years ago. Pilates had already been one of her biggest passions for around twenty years by that point, something she discovered in her early twenties after moving on from swimming and finding mind-body movement both mentally and physically rewarding.

When she relocated, she decided to switch careers entirely, following that passion into teaching so she could share it with others.

Learning to Teach Every Ability in the Room

Yasemin found Future Fit’s training well structured and easy to digest, without unnecessary jargon that would be difficult to deliver in a live class. She particularly valued how the course was built around three tiers, beginner, intermediate and advanced, so every level in a class could be catered for.

She also credits the course’s focus on the flow and transition of exercises, something she still gets compliments on from her students today, along with additional online training available after finishing, covering areas like prenatal and postnatal Pilates and Pilates for specific conditions and injuries.

Teaching Across St Albans, One Class at a Time

Yasemin now teaches in leisure centres and gyms around St Albans, as well as running her own independently marketed classes in community halls and churches. Every class brings a genuine mix of abilities and needs, from complete beginners to prenatal and postnatal clients or those working around specific injuries, and adapting exercises accordingly is something she sees as central to the job.

Her students consistently highlight the flow of her classes, exercises blending smoothly rather than “rolling about on the mat,” as one of the things that sets her teaching apart.
