A base level understanding of anatomy and physiology is crucial for an S&C trainer and this unit provides the foundational knowledge of the human body covering a number of body systems in detail. This unit offers fundamental content to enable S&C trainers not only to understand the structure and function of different body systems, but how exercise and physical activity effect the body both short and long term. It builds proficient knowledge for everyone embarking on a career in the fitness and/or S&C industry.
An S&C trainer not only needs to be familiar with bodily systems such as the cardiovascular system, but furthermore complex systems such as the endocrine and lymphatic systems as well as a robust understanding of the skin organ and posture. This advanced unit studies the molecular science of a selection of bodily systems. In addition, it will look at how these systems and the body as a whole respond to the physical demands of exercise.
