Below is a breakdown of the modules covered in the Strength & Conditioning course. These modules are taught in line with the gold-standard UKSCA Technical Model.
UKSCA are the professional body that has pioneered the introduction, and growth of strength and conditioning in the UK. For the last 18 years, they have been responsible for setting and raising standards of skills, knowledge and experience in the profession.
A base level understanding of anatomy and physiology is crucial for an S&C trainer and this unit provides the foundational knowledge of the human body covering a number of body systems in detail. This unit offers fundamental content to enable S&C trainers not only to understand the structure and function of different body systems, but how exercise and physical activity effect the body both short and long term. It builds proficient knowledge for everyone embarking on a career in the fitness and/or S&C industry.
An S&C trainer not only needs to be familiar with body systems such as the cardiovascular system, but furthermore complex systems such as the endocrine and lymphatic systems as well as a robust understanding of the skin organ and posture. This advanced unit studies the molecular science of a selection of body systems. In addition, it will look at how these systems and the body as a whole respond to the physical demands of exercise. Finally, a recap of the roles and locations of muscles will also be covered.

Strength & Conditioning is a path to continued success for health & fitness professionals. This course is suited for Personal Trainers that want to develop their skills and gain a qualification that will teach them the fundamentals of Olympic Lifting. This will allow them to help their clients using this powerful training method which not only will benefit athletes but also the general public.
However, our S&C course does not require that you have a Personal Training qualification to get started, all we ask is that you are over the age of 16.
The fundamental knowledge and principles needed to be an S&C Trainer are crucial, and it is important that all trainers have this knowledge from the outset, if they are to forge an outstanding career in the world’s most rewarding profession
