I have been working in the fitness industry since 2005, starting out as a personal trainer for a large chain gym. I soon became more interested in group exercise and started freelancing as a group ex instructor, predominantly teaching Les Mills programmes. I did this full time for several years, in the UK and Australia.
During this time I started to get involved in working with older adults and GP referral programmes. I now co-ordinate the older adult and exercise referral programmes for a large club, but still love teaching classes too. I am also very interested in barefoot training and teach the willPower Method.
I have always enjoyed being active, but only joined a gym in my early twenties and it changed my life. Since then the people who have helped me, in my own fitness and my career, have really inspired me to want to do the same for other people. From instructors in the gym, to tutors who taught my courses and managers who supported me and helped me to achieve what I want professionally.
Having the opportunity to do that for other people is what I love about the jobs that I do.
Most of my free time is taken up with my two young children, and spending time with my family. When time allows I enjoy cooking, horse riding and walking. My husband and I love travelling together and now enjoy exploring new places as a family.
