Lately, fitness might have felt a little different. More people are exploring weight-loss medications, conversations around movement are shifting, and there’s a bigger focus on feeling supported rather than pushed. With around 1.5 million people in the UK now using GLP-1 medications (BBC), this isn’t a rare or taboo topic anymore, it’s simply part of real life. And more than ever, people are looking for fitness spaces that offer understanding, reassurance, and guidance that actually feels good.
That’s exactly why we spent so much time developing our GLP-1 course. We could see the landscape evolving fast, and we wanted to make sure fitness professionals had access to education that was accurate and actually useful in real-world client work. Working closely with experts, including Dr Hussain Al-Zubaidi, we built training that breaks down what GLP-1 does in the body, how it affects appetite and metabolism, and what that means for exercise, nutrition conversations, and behaviour change.
The goal has always been simple: to make things feel less confusing and to help you feel confident supporting people as their bodies change. That might mean shifts in appetite, fullness, or energy levels – and knowing how to respond with care, understanding, and reassurance.
When clients use GLP‑1 medications, they may notice shifts in energy, motivation, and recovery patterns. Understanding these responses helps fitness professionals tailor workouts effectively.
Some clients may experience changes in muscle mass, so training adaptations and strength‑focused programmes are especially important.
We’re incredibly proud that our GLP-1 course is endorsed by CIMSPA, carries 2.5 CPD points, and is the only GLP-1 education recognised in alignment with CIMSPA and ukactive joint guidance. It was even named a finalist for Education Programme of the Year at the ukactive Awards, a huge recognition to the level of care and expertise that’s gone into its development.
Since launching, the response has been really encouraging. So many people have shared how quickly the course has helped them feel more confident and informed when supporting others who are using GLP-1 medications. The biggest shift? Better conversations! People feel more equipped to offer reassurance, adapt programmes in a way that actually suits the person in front of them, and create an environment where long-term, healthy change feels possible, not overwhelming.
This understanding matters more than ever. With 64% of UK adults now classed as overweight or obese, and over half a million more recently identified as at risk of type 2 diabetes, more people are navigating weight, health, and medication alongside their fitness journey. Having professionals who understand what’s going on beneath the surface – how appetite, energy, and recovery can change makes a real difference. When movement is guided with empathy and knowledge, it becomes safer, more effective, and far more sustainable.
Whether you’re new to the topic or already supporting clients who use weight-loss medications, this course is designed to meet you where you are. It’s welcoming, practical, and built with the realities of day-to-day coaching in mind. GLP-1 medications aren’t going anywhere, and as the industry continues to change, staying informed will put you in the best position to support every client who walks through your door.
If you’ve been thinking about upskilling, as we enter a new year, this is the best time to do it. It’s a great chance to get ahead of the curve, and deepen the support you offer your clients, now’s the time to jump in, our GLP-1 course is here when you’re ready.
