We are very excited to announce, that none other than world-class coach, and successful trainer Mark Laws has joined our team as a PT Master Trainer.
Mark is an incredibly talented and tenacious fitness professional, having worked in most roles in the fitness industry, all the way on to working with big names such as Bear Grylls and the Chinese Olympic team in Beijing 2008. As a Future Fit graduate himself, we are thrilled at his success and feel very fortunate that he can come back and help inspire and teach the next generation of Future Fit graduates.
Read on to discover more about Mark’s background and
success, and how he will be working with us over the coming months
We will cover:
“I started my Future Fit Training journey in July 2005…”
Mark qualified with us as a Level 3 Personal Trainer in 2006 and has worked in the fitness industry ever since.
Prior to this, Mark had been working in education in a school PE department, deciding that ‘the fitness industry was more appealing than working in a school forever’. ‘To be honest’ Mark told us ‘I stumbled across FFT by pure fluke, but it was one of the best accidents that have ever happened to me.’
After qualifying, Mark started his journey as a group instructor for Virgin Active and has worked his way through the fitness industry. He has gone on to work with some of the biggest names in sports such as Yorkshire Country Cricket Club and Sheffield United due to his determination to go above and beyond what was required and to keep expanding his knowledge.
Mark constantly put himself out there and worked on his networking, as well as attending seminars and workshops to invest himself fully into his career and, by extension, his clients. Mark was the first non-American to be certified in America by the Kettlebell world champion, and his Kettlebell work lead to many professional partnerships. Working with so many professional athletes has led Mark to create his own athlete development programme in his community.
Mark’s best advice for the industry is: “Never underestimate the value of the basics. Embarrassingly simple, devastatingly effective.”
Something he frequently says to motivate his clients is: “I can’t do the work for you. But I can ensure that everything is in place to help you succeed. You just need to invest a little bit of time, effort and money to achieve the goals that you said you would give ‘anything’ to achieve!”
“I am both excited and proud to now be working with Future Fit Training”
Having accomplished so much within his career following his training with Future Fit, we are thrilled that he has been able to join us as a PT Master Trainer.
He will be using his vast levels of experience within the industry to help shape our courses, modify existing ones, and help to create new material that will reflect how the industry is rapidly changing. He will be able to give our students invaluable insight about what it takes to be a success as both an employed and self-employed PT, creating material for e-learning and practical workshops moving forward.
Not only this, but he will be taking his skills on to our ProZone hub, contributing his knowledge on training and business through articles and presentations.
Future Fit has been instrumental in Mark’s success, and his advice for anyone choosing their training provider and entering the fitness industry is: “If you want a course that is getting shorter, cheaper and easier to pass then look elsewhere. If you want to be set up to have a long and fruitful career in the fitness industry, then Future Fit Training will be a good fit for you. If you buy cheap you buy twice...”
Mark will act as an invaluable resource for students to benefit from, for training that is not just to pass a qualification, but to thrive in the industry into the future (as he has done). To find out how we can do the same for you and your training, follow the link here for our courses and pricing
“being a Future Fit Training graduate provided me with the foundations that I needed”
Mark is an inspiration, as a trainer and as a businessperson; he took every opportunity to develop himself and learn new skills. Mark’s expertise is a huge asset to support Future Fit’s mission to equip trainers and coaches with the skills they need to forge successful careers, and we couldn’t be more excited to have his knowledge base influence how we progress with our training.
“I have no doubt that being a Future Fit Training graduate provided me with the foundations that I needed to build a long and successful career. But my favourite thing about the organisation is that they continue to update and improve every aspect of their business, ensuring that they remain ahead of their competitors. I am really happy to be part of a team that is constantly striving to improve.”
