Najah Hatahet is a devoted mother of three who found solace in weight training post-accident, seeking physical and mental empowerment. She is now studying Level 3 Personal Training to kick-start her new career.
Hi! I’m a 40 year old mum of 3 who discovered weight training after I had a serious accident and wanted to feel stronger physically and mentally. I started training with a personal trainer who had a huge impact on my life and as I was making great progress with my recovery and getting stronger, I learnt that the gym was more about mental health than anything else.
Gradually, I discovered my favourite lists were compound movements with a barbell so I decided to train as a powerlifter. I also started to make content for Instagram and it blew up really quickly- I accumulated a following of over 200k in just a few months! This led me to become a full time content creator which is a career I love. I’ve had so many people reach out to me and tell me how I’ve touched upon their lives that I decided to take this one step further and become a professional coach. I think this ties up my passion for fitness with my background in teaching and I’m really excited about this new milestone in my life and career.

I study with Future Fit because they value individuality and not a ‘one size fits all approach’. As a creative person and also a busy mum of three, I was attracted to their values of flexibility and freedom. As someone who is making a career change in my 40s, I felt that this was a safe space for me where I felt valued and feel excited about progressing into another phase in my life.

Training as a competitive powerlifter has taught me so much about life and the positive impact of being strong on your mental health and well-being. Making content for people across the world has also opened my eyes to how much the gym means to so many people. I just want to spread the message even further and help improve people’s lives through strength training.
I love Fried Korean Chicken and it’s my favourite cheat meal because I still get tons of protein in!
It’s made me feel much more confident about myself because instead of focussing on the negatives and being critical about myself I’m celebrating my daily achievements at the gym. I also feel stronger and healthier, more energetic and more mobile . It’s even improved my sleep!
Katniss Everdeen from the Hunger Games because she is always true to herself and her values despite reaching fame or in the threat of mortal danger. She is compassionate to her sister and takes care of the people around her even if it means putting herself at risk. If I’m not like her, I’d like to be!
My favourite workout is squats which is ironic because they used to be my least favourite but through a really good training program you can overcome weaknesses and even learn to love the lifts you hate! On a squat day I’ll do squats, good mornings and glute ham raises. I just love how challenging and demanding squats are, albeit a little humbling!
I’m definitely nervous about it as this is very new to me and a big change from purely being a content creator but I’m looking forward to the challenge and confident that I’ll overcome any initial difficulties.
I’d be a huge multitasker because I already feel that there is so much to do and it can get overwhelming. I’m a bit obsessive about getting things done so If I could do unlimited things in one go that would be a relief!
If your heart is in it then do it. Trust your instinct, it’s never wrong. The world needs more of fitness and the small miracles it does to enhance or transform people’s lives for the better, so if you can be part of it then go for it!
