You’ve Trained the Clients, Now Train the Trainers: Introducing Teaching and Assessing

You’ve built a career helping people smash goals, lift heavier, move better, and feel stronger. But lately, maybe you’ve felt a pull towards something new, something that still makes an impact, but in a different way.  Of course, making a change can feel daunting; finding the time or having the confidence to take that next step isn’t always easy. Perhaps you’ve found yourself naturally gravitating toward mentoring other trainers at your gym, or realising that your favourite part of the job is helping others learn. If that sounds like you, then the Future Fit Training’s suite of Teaching and Assessing courses might just be exactly what you have been looking for.

Our new Teaching and Assessing courses have been designed specifically for fitness professionals who want to take their experience, passion, and expertise beyond the gym floor, and into education. It’s designed to transition you seamlessly into roles such as tutor, assessor, or internal quality assurer, giving you the qualifications and confidence to shape the next generation of fitness professionals. You’ll have tutor support every step of the way, and the online format fits easily around your shifts.

Step Into Education

The first two qualifications that have launched under Teaching and Assessing are the Level 3 Award in Education and Training and the Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement, and are both NCFE accredited qualifications.

The Education and Training course is all about helping you become a confident, inclusive, and effective teacher. You’ll explore what it means to create a supportive learning environment, understand how to motivate different types of learners, and even deliver your own ‘micro-teach’ session to put your new skills into practice.  It blends e-learning with an in-person workshop and assessment day, giving you the flexibility to fit your studies around your current clients, work, and commitments.

The Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement course, on the other hand, is perfect for anyone who wants to move into the world of assessment. You’ll learn what makes an assessor truly effective, how to ensure fairness and compliance, and how to plan, document and evaluate assessments in a way that’s professional and robust. Through a mix of online study, practical assessment, and shadow hours, you’ll build a portfolio of evidence that shows exactly what you can do. It’s a great fit for experienced PTs, senior coaches, or even freelancers who want to diversify their skillset and open new career doors.

What makes the Teaching and Assessing courses stand out is its stackable career pathway. Rather than treating each course as a one-off, it’s been designed to support your long-term progression. You can start with Education and Training, move on to become a qualified Assessor, and then take it even further with the upcoming Level 4 Award in Internal Quality Assurance which is coming soon. It’s a full journey from personal trainer to tutor, to assessor, to internal verifier, giving you a clear route for growth within the fitness education space.

Flexible Learning, Real Results

It’s also worth saying, these aren’t your average qualifications. Every course has been built by the industry, for the industry. That means the content is grounded in the real-world experiences of active tutors, assessors, and training providers who understand what it’s actually like to work in fitness. Everything has been created to fit the lifestyle of busy professionals – flexible, relevant, and designed to enhance your credibility while keeping you earning and learning at the same time.

The truth is, the fitness industry is growing fast, but for many professionals, there comes a point where career progression starts to level off. These courses open up a whole new direction, one that’s more stable, flexible, and still deeply rewarding. You get to use all the knowledge you’ve built on the gym floor, but in a way that creates even more impact. You’re not just training clients anymore; you’re shaping the next generation of trainers.

So, if you’ve been feeling that pull towards something new, this might just be your sign. The Future Fit Teaching and Assessing courses are here to help you evolve your career, future-proof your skills, and take that next big step into teaching, assessing, and beyond. Because your passion for fitness doesn’t have to stop at the squat rack, it can take you all the way to the front of the classroom.
