Breaking Barriers: How Active IQ, Future Fit & StrongMen Are Empowering Men Through Wellbeing Education

In a powerful new collaboration that blends compassion, education, and community impact, three standout names in the UK’s health and wellbeing sector – Active IQ, Future Fit Training, and StrongMen – have joined forces to champion men’s mental health in a big way. This July, they’ve launched a new initiative designed to upskill StrongMen’s team of volunteers and staff by offering them fully funded access to a nationally recognised wellbeing qualification.

We are providing our Level 2 Understanding Mental Wellbeing course free of charge to 30 StrongMen volunteers and staff, with Active IQ covering all registration and certification costs. This opportunity comes at zero cost to learners, removing financial barriers to education and development. But it’s not just about training. It’s about equipping people, many of whom have experienced grief with the skills to support others more effectively through a holistic, person-centred approach to wellbeing.

StrongMen is already known for its impactful work supporting men through bereavement, offering weekend retreats, peer networks and emotional support that’s grounded in lived experience. Each of their volunteers brings lived experience of loss, which brings a deep level of empathy to everything they do. Now, this training will empower them to use physical activity and coaching techniques even more effectively, turning fitness into a transformative tool for recovery and resilience.

This initiative strengthens the link between physical health, mental wellbeing, and emotional support, something StrongMen has been advocating for from the start. By equipping their volunteers with professional credentials, it reinforces their ability to make an even greater impact in the communities they serve.

This collaboration between Active IQ, Future Fit, and StrongMen isn’t a one-off. It marks the start of a longer-term commitment to improving access to wellbeing education, expanding future training opportunities, and continuing joint efforts to support men’s mental health. It’s a real, purpose-driven partnership that’s already making a meaningful difference, and it’s only just getting started.
