Future Fit Training Partners With The Dame Kelly Holmes Trust

Future Fit Training has agreed a partnership with the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust in which it will support the charity’s youngsters and Give Back athlete mentors. Future Fit will provide a complimentary Complete Personal Trainer Diploma (Level 3), Diploma In Weight Loss Management or Diploma In Mat Pilates (Level 3) Diploma course to selected individuals to open up personal and career development opportunities.

“The Dame Kelly Holmes Trust is a truly inspirational charity and we feel there is great synergy between us,” says Rob Johnson, Future Fit Training managing director. “We are already working with Kelly, who is about to complete her Level 3 PT Diploma with us, and have also trained one of the Trust’s mentors, British Taekwondo champion-turned-Ninja Warrior competitor and trainer, Henry Cookey. After looking into the Trust’s work rehabilitating and supporting disadvantaged youngsters and its equal commitment to training and developing its Give Back Athletes, we felt compelled to support its work.”

Future Fit is supporting the Trust in two additional ways. Firstly, it has pledged that its staff will volunteer hours of work for the Trust over the coming year and, secondly, Future Fit will look to offer work experience to youngsters on the Trust’s programme.

“We were not looking simply for a commercial sponsorship arrangement and felt it was important to really get alongside the Trust to support its staff and the youngsters on its programmes by offering our time and work experience,” says Rob.

Dame Kelly Holmes Trust mentor and Paralympic swimmer David Hill will be the next Give Back Athlete to benefit from the partnership and is about to start on the Future Fit Level 3 PT Diploma course. Interviews will soon be held with selected youngsters who are looking to train in personal training, Pilates or nutrition.

“Future Fit has proved itself a superb partner already by training Kelly and Henry and I am confident our partnership will bring many opportunities to my colleagues and the young people with whom they work,” says Adam Whitehead, Head of Training and Learning Design at the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust. “We feel genuine empathy from Future Fit and the additional offer of staff volunteering time and work experience for selected youngsters combine to give this partnership great potential for all concerned.” The Trust is also adding to the agreement as some of its Give Back athletes will share their insight and skills by delivering a training or masterclass session to Future Fit team.
