I am not a qualified personal trainer, can I still join the PT Pro Zone?

The Pro Zone is aimed primarily at Personal Trainers as the content is aimed at building on their existing knowledge.

However, if you are level 2 trained, such as a Gym Instructor, or working up to your Personal Trainer qualifications, you would still be welcome to join the Pro Zone, but you would need to be aware that some of the content may not be relevant to you or may build on knowledge you have not yet developed. Back to top

I don’t have a computer/speakers/a microphone, can I still gain the CPD points from the webinars?

In order to access the webinars and learn from the content, you must be able to watch the video and listen to the tutor speaking.

All of our webinars are made available to you as recordings which you can watch at a time that is suitable for you, so even if you do not have a computer at home, you may be able to borrow a friend’s, watch them at work or use the computer facilities available at places such as your local library. Back to top

Who are CIMSPA?

CIMSPA stands for the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity.

Launched in 2011, CIMSPA is the professional development body for the UK’s sport and physical activity sector.

CIMSPA has been awarded chartered status by the Privy Council, which came into effect at the start of January 2012.

CIMSPA provides leadership, support and empowerment for professionals working in sport and physical activity and a single unified voice for the sector.

In 2015, Sport England announced it was backing CIMSPA to be the single body within the sector that safeguards standards through the regulation of training and qualifications. As such, the majority of employers within the fitness industry will soon require employed or self-employed staff to be members of CIMSPA and adhere to their CPD requirements

Can I really meet all my CPD requirements by being a Pro Zone member?

CIMSPA require members to obtain 10 CPD points per year, at least 5 of which should be from the ‘endorsed’ category - training that has been mapped against and aligns to relevant industry-recognised professional standards. Each webinar delivered by Future Fit within the Pro Zone will carry 1 CPD point, and at least 15 of those scheduled each year will be in the endorsed category. Therefore by attending or watching every webinar within a month of it's live delivery (see below) you can meet and exceed your annual CPD requirements with CIMSPA.

Of course we recommend you do additional training to ensure you develop your skills and knowledge as far as possible, and you will have opportunities to do this by taking advantage of your 25% member discount on Future Fit courses, and exclusive offers from our guest partners.

How to gain your CPD points?

Following each accredited webinar you will be directed to a short, 3-question online test which you must pass in order to claim your CPD point. This test should only take a couple of minutes. We will then automatically notify CIMSPA who will update your CPD record. You will also be sent a unique reference code which you should keep in the event of any queries.

The deadline to complete the online test is approximately one month following the webinar after which you won't be able to claim your point (you will be informed of the exact date). This is to encourage you to schedule your training and keep on top of it. In the Facebook group there is also supporting material for the webinar in the month it is delivered, so it is best practice to watch it live, or as soon as you can afterwards to maximise your learning.
