Success Story - Stuart Gregory
"I was impressed with the quality and content of the prospectus and the enthusiasm of the Future Fit staff when I called them"
"...I needed the flexibility of being able to study in my own free time. The online learning and weekend workshops provided this flexibility."
From a young age I have always been interested in keeping fit, particularly enjoying weight training and bodybuilding. I have often trained with younger friends and colleagues who have suggested that I would make a good instructor.
With more and more media attention focusing on lack of exercise and the associated health risks, the idea of becoming a personal trainer became more and more appealing. I could see it allowing me to do something I have a great interest in and enjoy, as well as being a career I could continue with beyond retirement.
I was still working as an accountant so I needed the flexibility of being able to study in my own free time. The online learning and weekend workshops provided this flexibility.
I was impressed with the quality and content of the prospectus and the enthusiasm of the Future Fit staff when I called them for an initial discussion. I also wanted to ensure the qualifications were industry recognised.
Although I looked at other providers, Future Fit seemed one of the most professional and the Advanced Personal Trainer Diploma contained the modules I was most interested in.
I have set up my own business as a freelance Personal Trainer. I train clients in their own homes and outdoors. As well as producing and delivering individual exercise programmes, I include nutritional elements that are just as important and I find my clients appreciate the attention to this.
I am also working with clients who have health issues such as diabetes and obesity. It’s very rewarding when clients make improvements and to see the theory of what I’ve learnt with Future Fit working in practice!
My new career has only recently begun! I want to expand my client base, set up circuit training classes in my village, and use my Exercise Referral qualification further. My website (www.sghealthandfitness.co.uk) has just launched and I want to keep it fresh and appealing.
Having my own studio is something I would like to have in due course.
Go through most of the online learning material more than once. It’s impossible to absorb all that needs to be absorbed the first time. The time spent repeating a lesson is well spent. And don’t hesitate to ask technical support for their help if needed!
