Future Fit at the National Fitness Awards

The Future Fit team celebrated the end of the year in style at the National Fitness Awards in Leicester last Friday, hosted by our ambassador Katie Bulmer-Cooke and former world champion boxer Ricky Hatton.

Following our own Training Provider of the Year accolade, won two nights previously, it was great to let our hair down (not that I have any) and enjoy seeing gyms, fitness teams and individuals rewarded for their achievements and hard work in 2016.

There was one job for me on the night though.

As sponsors of the Gym-based PT of the Year award, I had the honour of announcing the winner and presenting them with the trophy. In showbiz style, Katie invited me on stage to open the golden envelope and reveal the result.

This year it was Michael Warren from Xercise4Less in North Shields. Actually the second time he has won this award, Michael was once again over moon to receive it in recognition of his commitment to high standards and personal development.

In a short Facebook Live interview with us straight afterwards, Michael was asked what his advice to fellow PTs would be. "Continuous education and continuous evolvement” and “learn about business and marketing" were his key tips, showing the importance of backing up technical knowledge in exercise and nutrition with softer skills to build a successful career.

As further reward for his win, we're pleased to offer Michael a complimentary membership of our new Pro Zone. There, he will not only be able to continue his development as a trainer, but also offer his own experience and advice to fellow members and contribute to our collective efforts to #RaisetheBar.

Here's to an exciting 2017!
