Success Story - Geoff Wood

"Explain your answers to another person, this will help you get both answers and questions straight in your own mind, it is also an excellent aid to memory."

Where did your initial interest in fitness come from?

I joined the RAF Regiment at 17 and served 28 years. This allowed me to maintain an active life style with fitness becoming part of my daily routine.

Why the Future Fit School of Personal Training?

Within 2 years of leaving the service I had a full hip replacement. At this time I was working as a civil servant for the MoD with access to the base gym. So as a means of rehabilitation I decided to train as a gym instructor. Future Fit Training was the only company that provided what I wanted within a reasonable travelling distance; however the advantages I found far exceeded my original criteria.

I have always found the Future Fit instructional staff to be totally professional with an in-depth knowledge of their subjects and are able to teach at a pace that encourages interest and enhances learning. Additionally, I have always found the support staff helpful, understanding and a friendly voice at the end of the phone.

My current role

I still work full time for the MoD. My spare time is taken up training both service and civilian personnel on the base, taking spinning classes and a fair amount of 1-2-1 training.

My future

I am leaving the Civil Service in March 2013 and I am looking forward to starting my own personal training business, with the emphasis on training clients in the 40+ age group who find the gym a scary place and would rather exercise in a more relaxed environment. (Hence my last course, Client Psychology and Motivation).
