- Exercise Referral for Health Management
This workshop will significantly increase your earning potential as a fitness professional. Qualify to accept GP referrals and offer a specialist service, this CPD certification will give you the edge over your competitors.
Not only will you be qualified to accept interesting and lucrative GP referrals for common conditions such as diabetes, hypertension and obesity, you’ll be able to provide a more comprehensive, specialist service to non-referred clients who also suffer from these conditions.
With this qualification, you can provide consultations to GP referred patients and work with them to overcome common health problems. This type of work for a personal trainer can be very rewarding. As you develop a good working relationship with your local GP practice and demonstrate your professional ability, you can ensure a steady flow of new clients.
By providing the correct nutritional advice and specific exercise programmes, your expertise will help referred and existing clients to manage their medical conditions and live longer healthier lives.
We incorporate group physical activity prescription into this course rather than just focusing on gym-based learning. This allows learners to expand their knowledge into real-life exercise referral provision with the evidence supporting group community provision.
Practical tasks completed on the course focus on activities of daily living (ADLs), aiming to enhance the quality of life and and retain patient independence.
The focus of the course is health, therefore rather than just concentrating on the physical benefits, we stress the importance of the social and psychological aspects of exercise referral which have arguably greater influences on adherence to physical activity interventions.
Ahead of a 3-day practical workshop to support your delivery of sessions across a wide range of conditions, you’ll receive a 300-page manual to read and refer back to.

Did my level 3 personal trainer course with Futurefit. The curriculum is well structured and comprehensive, their online learning and lessons are far superior than other providers. You can get a qualification for cheaper and in a shorter time elsewhere but will never get the deep knowledge what would make you better than an average personal trainer.

I signed up for the Total Immersion with Future Fit and so far have completed my Level 2 & 3 as well as many CPD courses, I just have some Level 4 courses left. Upon reflection of my training so far, I'm not sure that online learning is the best way to go as you don't get the hands-on experience that you really need to build confidence and I did feel a bot lost when I first started working in the industry. However, having said that I have always been very impressed with Future Fit prompt and reliable customer service.

I recently enrolled onto the Pilates teacher training course with Future Fit. The career advisor I spoke with throughout the process was Scott Bolwell. I really must say I was so impressed with the level of customer service I received from Scott right from the very beginning. When I first called through on the phone I had a lot of questions and Scott was very patient and thorough.

Becoming a personal trainer isn’t cheap. It’s an investment, which can pay for itself if you come out the other side with the requisite skills to earn a living as a PT. For that reason, it’s not worth cutting corners. When searching for training providers FFT looked like the obvious choice. They had excellent reviews, have been providing expert tuition for 24 years, have a 97% student satisfaction rate and were named UK Active "Training Provider of the Year" in 2016 and 2017. Their part-time online course also meant I could study at home around freelance projects and work at my own pace.
