Learn some effective motivational communication techniques for positive behaviour change.
Have you ever struggled to help clients who say they want to eat healthier and exercise more but repeatedly do the opposite?
Do you sometimes despair because it seems your clients are not taking all of your great advice on board?
One of the most common mistakes that health and fitness professionals make is assuming that informing our clients of the consequences of their poor diet/inactivity will lead to behaviour change. The reality is that this approach is at best ineffective and at worst completely counter-productive.
This masterclass will teach you a new approach. You will learn how to use motivational interviewing techniques to communicate with clients in a way that elicits genuine motivation and sustained behaviour change.
All the exercise and nutrition advice in the world is useless if you can’t get your clients to follow it. This masterclass gives you easy-to-apply tools to support effective behaviour change.
Learn 8 proven communication techniques you can put into practice with clients straight away.
Delivered by Dr Pat Partington, a psychologist and exercise scientist who has spent over 25 years working to improve patients' mental well-being alongside their physical health.

Launched in 2011, the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA) is the professional development body for the UK’s sport, fitness and physical activity sector and has been awarded chartered status by the Privy Council. CIMSPA provides leadership, support and empowerment for professionals working in sport and physical activity and is the strategic lead for professional development in the sector.
CIMSPA has been tasked by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), backed by Sport England and employers, with leading the sport and physical activity sectors workforce development programme. This will be achieved by creating a clear and rigorous set of employer-led standards for all sport and exercise professionals, with a similar clear and rigorous system for assessment, awarding and validating qualifications.
CIMSPA is recognised as the authoritative, single unified voice for the sector by government departments, key agencies and partners, including Sport England, Public Health England, ukactive, Sport and Recreation Alliance, Sporta and cCLOA. The institute has membership options for everyone working in, or interested in working in, the sport and physical activity world – from student and apprentice through to service director and CEO. CIMSPA already provides a route to chartered status for those working in leisure operations, and is developing similar routes for the whole of the sector. For more information go to www.cimspa.co.uk.
Each individual module within your training programme has a specific deadline or time-frame of completion that must be achieved in order to pass. The aim of the deadlines are to encourage you to succeed and ensure that you become qualified. The overall deadline to complete all your courses is 3 years from when you purchased.
We would ask how much time can you dedicate to your study? The more time available, the quicker you can complete your course/diploma. If you don’t have lots of time, we advise taking it step-by-step.
I had a great time during my training. It was not easy but help was available to get me through. The practical week end sessions were invaluable. I would recommend Future Fit to anyone wanting to become a pilates instructor.

Did my level 3 personal trainer course with Futurefit. The curriculum is well structured and comprehensive, their online learning and lessons are far superior than other providers. You can get a qualification for cheaper and in a shorter time elsewhere but will never get the deep knowledge what would make you better than an average personal trainer.

I have been studying with Future Fit Training for the past year and can honestly say how amazing they are as a training provider. They cover every basis, you get excellent support from the tutors, the online training is intense and thorough, the workshops are fantastic and the tutors themselves are extremely knowledgeable.

Becoming a personal trainer isn’t cheap. It’s an investment, which can pay for itself if you come out the other side with the requisite skills to earn a living as a PT. For that reason, it’s not worth cutting corners. When searching for training providers FFT looked like the obvious choice. They had excellent reviews, have been providing expert tuition for 24 years, have a 97% student satisfaction rate and were named UK Active "Training Provider of the Year" in 2016 and 2017. Their part-time online course also meant I could study at home around freelance projects and work at my own pace.
