How Have We Adapted Our Training to Keep You Learning During Lockdown?

Over the past 10 months, adapting and re-creating our training style to work seamlessly, despite the restrictions the UK has faced, has been our top priority.

All of our training, every module, and each step, is created and adapted with our students in mind and their current and ongoing career's in this exciting, and still fruitful industry.

How You Can Continue Your Training Course Despite Lockdown

As we are continually reviewing our courses the information below is subject to change:

To make continuing with your training easier, we have:

  • Moved certain theory elements to our state-of-the-art e-learning platform.
  • Provided scheduled virtual workshops with our tutors for online training.
  • Provided pre-recorded sessions for you to access whenever you’re able if you cannot attend a virtual workshop
  • Made it possible for you to complete the level 2 and 3 Anatomy and Physiology exams remotely rather than sitting them in a live exam environment.

This is ideal for home study and fitting around existing commitments, as well as allowing you to make valuable progress in your course.

Our training consists of up to 70% e-learning, even for blended learning courses such as the level 3 personal trainer course, the level 2 gym instructor course, or any of the Pilates instructor courses.

You will still be able to complete our e-learning modules during this time so that, once lockdown measures are lifted, you are in a good position to complete your practical fitness workshops and assessments.

How We Will Keep Your Practical Learning Safe Once Lockdown is Lifted

When we are able to return to face-to-face training, rest assured that your workshops will be delivered by a tutor that has, and continues to receive, training and support to deliver your learning in a COVID-secure manner

All staff will have completed the ReActivate training, covering important topics such as social distancing, virus-specific procedures, and cleaning equipment.

As a provider, we still emphasise the importance of face-to-face learning. We believe that it is highly important to have practical teaching experience so that you are completely prepared to work with clients as fitness professionals.

Some elements must remain practical to maintain the high standard of our training and due to requirements from the Awarding Organisations and CIMSPA. If the criteria changes and we alter the delivery of any of these aspects, we will notify you as soon as possible.

How You Can Get Help Funding Your Course

We understand that everyone has been impacted differently by the pandemic, and we want to help our students in any way we can.

If you are financially affected and struggling with your payments, then please notify our accounts department as soon as possible so that we can look into your available options.

Can I be remotely Assessed?

No, students can not be remotely assessed for any practical element of our courses. We have worked closely with our Awarding Organisations and the option being given currently is to delay practical assessments.

Will my certificates be delayed?

Under the current restrictions, the processing of certificates by the Awarding Organisations may be delayed. We assure you we are doing everything to mitigate this, however some delays may be unavoidable during these unprecedented times.

How will I get notified as to when I can book practical elements?

You can see a list of all the current dates and locations available to request via your Student Zone. These are planned to go ahead so long as no government restriction prevent the running of the practical element in question. If the date you book is subsequently postponed then read 'My course/assessment has been postponed, how will this be rescheduled?'

When will practical elements resume?

Unfortunately, at the moment, we can’t give a definitive answer as various factors are involved:

  1. Firstly, the Government needs to confirm when the national lockdown is ending.
  2. Secondly, which Tiers regions will fall into when it ends.
  3. Finally when our venues will re-open.

Our aim, however, is to re-start as quickly as possible after the lockdown end date.

My course/assessment has been postponed, how will this be rescheduled?

Our teams are preparing for a re-start now so, when we have a firm lockdown end date, all students affected by postponements will be contacted via email within 4 weeks to inform them of their new date booked.

Will my overall completion deadline be extended?

This will vary depending on the courses you have purchased.

If you are unable to continue your studies due to the current restrictions, we can look to extend your completion deadline by the period in which you are delayed. As this will be assessed on a case-by-case basis, if you believe you will no longer be able to adhere to the original completion deadline, please contact Student Support so that we can investigate your available options.

Can my portfolio be marked remotely?

Yes, we are currently setting up a process for portfolios to be marked digitally.

Students who have had their assessment day postponed will receive a specific email detailing how to submit their portfolios for marking. This is being completed in date order of assessments, please do not send in any work to be marked without first receiving our communication.

If I book a future date, can I defer from this Course/Assessment free of charge?

As all future bookings will be made with knowledge of the current pandemic, deferral fees may apply (please refer to your Terms and Conditions on your enrolment form for further details on this).

If there are extenuating circumstances, then please contact us as soon as possible so that we can look into your options. Please note that we may require evidence of your circumstances to fully consider all options.

The only online learning I have left requires a practical element as a prerequisite, what can I do?

So long as you have completed all your available e-learning, we may be able to release courses that require a prerequisite to enable you to continue studying. This will be looked at on a case-by-case basis as all our courses have different requirements. If this circumstance applies to you then please contact our Student Support department so that we can investigate your available options.

I have a future date booked, how will I be notified if this is affected?

Decisions on future dates will be dictated by Government updates, so any changes will be communicated to all affected students via email as quickly as possible.
