11:45 – 12:30 My 4th client was Louise who currently has a back problem, so it was only a short session. Her osteopath has advised me of several exercises she could do. Louise was a little cautious at first, so it was important for me to clearly explain what we were doing.
12:30 – 15:30 I had a two and a half hour gap between clients, so I ate my lunch, caught up on missed calls to my mobile and fitted in a work out for myself. Managed to make an appointment for tomorrow to see a potential new client.
15:30 – 16:30 Mohammed, who is my 5th client today, cancelled. It is a shame but these things happen. I had a
1 ½ hour window so utilised my time catching up on some paperwork and phoning two other
possible clients.
17:00 – 18:00 6th client of this busy day was Ian, the resident golf professional at my local golf club. Ian has
asked for support developing an exercise programme for his clients. Together, we have developed a series of exercises targeting the shoulders and the hips that focused on improving power through the downswing.
18:00 Finished for the day. Went home for a well-earned rest. Another great day ahead tomorrow!
06:30 – 07:30 1st client of the day was Mark, so I travelled to his home, which is only 5 minutes from where I live. Mark is off on a skiing holiday in 3 months and wants to improve his fitness. We decided to concentrate on strength and interval training, as this will really benefit him. The focus for these sessions has been on integrating activities that mimic skiing and have a functional benefit to Mark. I wanted to work on Mark’s core strength, so I took a stability ball with me.
07:30 – 08:00 Time for breakfast on the run. I grabbed some breakfast before making my way to my next client.
08:00 – 09:00 2nd client of the day is Susan. This was her first training session with me after her initial assessment. Susan has a history of diabetes, so she had obtained a letter from her doctor confirming she was ok to exercise. This session focused on general conditioning with a light aerobic workout, as I wanted to see how Susan responds to exercise.
9:00 - 10:00 I had a break between clients, so I managed to write up the notes from my morning sessions.
10:00 – 11:00 3rd client today was Tariq and we had a training session at his local health club. Tariq’s goals are focused towards strength training so I had planned a split routine for him. It was time today to blast that chest and those shoulders!
