Back to business basics (part 4)

It is surprising how many PTs ignore them, so get in to good habits now and you’ll soon be picking up clients that less professional PTs have let slip.

  1. Keep in touch in between sessions – out of sight should not mean out of mind. The occasional email, text and regular social media posting means it is very easy to show you are still thinking about your client and have their best interests at heart.
  2. Get used to critiquing your own performance – after a session you should think to yourself or even write down and answer these questions: ‘What worked well? What didn’t work well? What can I improve on? Would I have paid for that session and been happy?’
  3. Think about what your sessions look like from a third person’s point of view – if you were watching yourself train a client would you see an efficient, focussed, energised and interesting session? Every time you train someone others are watching and deciding whether or not to hire your services. Make sure you are a good advert for yourself.
