An update from our 20,000th student
Steve White, our 20,000th student, has been working hard at his diploma and we felt it was time to update you all on how he's getting on.
How’s my training going?
I’m pleased to report that I’ve completed my Anatomy and Physiology Level 2 and Gym Instructor courses and I’m just coming into my eighth week of the Nutrition and Weight Management course.
What do I think of it so far?
I’m loving it! I flew through the Anatomy and Physiology and Gym courses, but underestimated how much material there would be in the Nutrition and Weight Management module. I definitely underestimated how in-depth the course would be - I didn’t realise how much nutritional information you need as a personal trainer. I wish I had a bit more time – that’s not to say that I’m finding it difficult, there’s just a lot to learn.
Ups and downs?
The practical courses are very full on, which can be quite draining at times. That being said, they were a lot of fun and it was great to meet some like-minded people and share the experience with them.
How’s the workload?
I’m lucky enough to be working part time at the moment so I can dedicate a lot of time to my studies. I also knew when I booked the course that there would be a lot of work involved and my eyes are open to the fact that I will continue to learn things long after my diploma finishes.
I’m due to start my case study for Nutrition and Weight Management in a couple of weeks and after that on to the Personal Trainer course – which I’ve really been looking forward to.
Any advice for students?
At this stage my advice would be to stick with it. There may be lot to learn, but that means that you will have plenty of knowledge when you become qualified.
