NICE recommendations for obese people

New NICE (National Institute for Clinical Excellence) guidelines recommend, for the first time, that local authorities and GPs refer overweight people to weight management programmes in the local community that address dietary intake and physical activity levels.

I recently attended a round table discussion with UKactive to discuss the implications of these new guidelines. One of the key points raised was that anyone offering a weight management programme to the public needs a good understanding of the psychology of behaviour change, something which Future Fit Training has long believed in.

Overall, it was really reassuring to know that Future Fit School of Nutrition is equipping its graduates with all the right knowledge and skills  to deliver weight management programmes that meet the requirements set out by NICE –  particularly with regard the focus on life-long lifestyle changes.
