Where did your initial interest in nutrition come from?
When I was at university I made a promise to myself never to buy a ready meal. I wanted to avoid gaining weight and becoming unhealthy, so I cooked all my meals from scratch and read more nutrition books than I did my course books. I was studying Politics & Sociology and very quickly realised I should’ve thought more about my degree choice and picked Nutrition instead. All that aside, I graduated and decided to pursue a career in journalism to one day write for one of the many health, fitness and nutrition magazines I coveted. A year later I scored my first job at Health & Fitness and I haven’t looked back.
Why the Future Fit School of Nutrition?
I decided to train with Future Fit because the volume and workload suited my lifestyle and my current workload. The course content was information I was already familiar with, plus a substantial amount of theory that was new to me, which was exciting.
My current role
I am a Health Editor at Health & Fitness magazine. I have worked on the magazine for five years and I first joined the magazine because I had a huge passion for nutrition and health. During my time on the magazine my interest has grown and so has the volume of healthy eating content I produce for the magazine.
I plan to continue in my role as Health Editor at Health & Fitness magazine, while helping private clients in my free time. I feel well equipped to advise others on weight management and sports nutrition.
