Future Fit Training Becomes the First Training Provider to Qualify a New NVQ Level 3 Student

Future Fit Training is proud to announce that one of its students, Philip Malyon, has become the first person in UK to qualify as a new NVQ Level 3 in 'Instructing Physical Activity and Exercise' instructor. Future Fit Training is the first training provider accredited to qualify students at this new level.

The new NVQ Level 3 is nationally recognised as the highest vocational award that can be presented to fitness instructors in the UK and is expected to become the benchmark qualification for the health and fitness industry.

Philip Malyon of Fareham, Hampshire, has been a police officer for over 30 years and is planning to start up his own personal trainer business once he retires from the force.

Mr Malyon said, "I am absolutely delighted at achieving this award as it will hold me in good stead for the future. I would like to thank Future Fit Training for all their support during the course."

This qualification involves fitness instructors being assessed in a live working environment, the submission of a portfolio and the completion of six mandatory units ranging from planning a progressive physical activity programme to providing motivation and support.

REPs registrar Cliff Collins was keen to acknowledge Philips achievement and Future Fit Training’s role in this, “Future Fit should be commended for their continued commitment to the improvement of industry standards. This qualification means another stride towards better preparing students for a career in the fitness industry”

Philip Malyon passed his final assessment with flying colours on 22 March 2005 and was awarded his certificate on the 27 April 2005 from the highly respected awarding body, Oxford, Cambridge and RSA Examinations (OCR).
