Gym Instructor
This course provides the knowledge and skills that are essential for the planning, instructing and evaluation of a successful one-to-one gym session. It also provides the underpinning knowledge and skills in preparation for the Diploma in Personal Training and Specialist Diploma in Advanced Personal Training.

Format
A 3-day practical course.

- CV machines
- Resistance machines
- Free-weights
Entry requirements
You must be 16 or over and ideally you should have regularly attended a gym.
Assessment
You will need to compile a portfolio documenting preparation for a gym session. The practical assessment typically occurs at least 4 weeks after the course and you will need to bring a friend to use as a client. To help you prepare for the course and assessment you will have access to an online exercise library.
Certification and credits
On successful completion (including passing the appropriate Anatomy and Physiology exams) you will be awarded a City and Guilds qualification at Level 2. You will also receive 20 REPs CPD points.
