Anatomy and Physiology Workbooks
(theory by home study)
Anatomy and Physiology Home Study
You study the pack of five Anatomy and Physiology workbooks at home, in your own time, knowing that your tutor is available by email or telephone to support and encourage you. The workbooks more than cover all the theory to meet the requirements of the Gym and Exercise to Music Instructor award. They are not dry textbooks, but are instead designed to be interactive. You respond to prompts and questions, so you can check your own progress and knowledge. At the end of each workbook, you undertake an on-line assessment (or paper assessment if you do not have access to the internet) that will check your understanding of material.
The first three workbooks are devoted to human anatomy and physiology; Workbook 4 introduces the theory of exercise. This theme continues in Workbook 5: The Fitness Professional, where we start to answer the question: ‘What is it like to be a Gym or Exercise to Music Instructor?’
The great advantage of this open learning method over classroom instruction is that you are much more likely to retain what you have learned.
The length of time you take to study the workbooks is up to you, but your tutor will discuss with you a study plan that fits in with your lifestyle. Based on studying approximately 4 hours a week, most people take about 3 months to complete their books. If you have more time available, you can complete the work in a shorter period.
