If you're worried about the investment needed to start a career in fitness, Zoann Medcalf shows you how to earn back the money you spend on a course, within a year.
Pursuing a career in fitness can be both rewarding and lucrative, yet achieving the qualifications you desire can be dictated by various factors such as financial commitments and fitting study around current responsibilities.
The good news is you don't have to wait long before you can start to earn money back on your investment and you can make money while you're still studying for your qualification.
So let's look at becoming a Personal Trainer as an example; as one of the most popular disciplines in the industry, there is a high demand for good Personal Trainers and a high earning potential. The total cost to qualify, is £2,619 which, with our pay as you learn scheme, could be spread over a 12 month installment plan.
"Spreading the cost provides a flexible and affordable way of getting the qualifications you want and costs you less than £50 a week, and you can quickly start to earn this back!"
Following payment of a deposit you receive the Anatomy & Physiology Workbooks which will take you approximately 10-12 weeks to complete.
Once you have successfully completed this module and providing your payment plan is up to date, you can now proceed with your Gym Instructor Module and completion of that gives you your licence to teach! So, in just 3-4 months of starting your diploma, you are ready to teach and in a position to start earning money back on your investment.
As a Gym Instructor you can earn on average £7 per hour, so you would only need to work 7 hours a week over 4 months to cover your diploma costs. After a further 4 months (8 months in total) you'll have achieved your Personal Trainer qualification and can start to increase your hourly rate!
Newly qualified Personal Trainers earn from £20 an hour, so if you can increase your hours to 14 per week for the final 4 months of the year, you'll have earned a total of £5,280 from an investment of £2,619 - that's double your money!
Choosing to work a few hours a week while you study, not only earns extra cash, it also gives you the added advantage of building up valuable experience and establishing a client base, both of which are crucial areas as you go on to qualify as a Personal Trainer and will enable you to command a high salary.
As you progress through the diploma, taking further modules, your knowledge and the versatility of the training you are able to offer to your clients will grow, as will your earning power. Having completed all your training in 12 months and paid for it, you're then free to earn as much as you like - the sky's the limit!
