Instructing Physical Activity and Exercise - NVQ Level 3 Award
The NVQ Level 3 - Advanced Instructor qualification is aimed at people who want to develop their teaching skills to that of an elite fitness professional. It perfectly complements and enhances the Personal Trainer, Advanced Personal Trainer and Total Immersion! Diplomas.
You will learn how to develop customised advanced programmes and skills to improve your clients' health, lifestyle and fitness.
The NVQ Level 3 is a nationally recognised vocational standard in fitness instructing and is recognised by employers worldwide. It guarantees you full status on REPs Level 3 as an Advanced Instructor. This award also provides you with a range of transferable skills that will improve your future career opportunities.
If you’re looking to be among an elite bracket of advanced instructors in the UK and Europe, the NVQ Level 3 award is a must. You’ll not only be more attractive to employers, but you’ll be able to charge a premium due to your extensive fitness knowledge.
Students are required to provide evidence of work-based competence which can be collated over a period of time.
The 5 mandatory units include the following activities:
- collect and analyse information to plan a progressive physical activity programme
- plan, review and adapt a progressive physical activity programme
- plan and instruct specific physical activities
- provide motivation and support to clients during a progressive physical activity programme
- manage, evaluate and improve own performance in providing physical activity.
You are assessed in a live working environment and via a portfolio of evidence for the 5 mandatory units.
To book the NVQ Level 3 - Advanced Instructor qualification you need to have signed up for or completed one of the following diplomas with Future Fit Training: Personal Trainer Diploma, Advanced Personal Trainer Diploma or Total Immersion! Diploma. Students enrolling on the Studio Professional and Advanced Studio Professional Diplomas can book on the NVQ Level 3 for Group Exercise. Courses taken with other providers may be admissible.
This award guarantees you full entry onto the REPs register at Level 3, or 20 CPD points if you are already at this level. You will also be awarded the City and Guilds NVQ Level 3 certificate in Instructing Physical Activity and Exercise.
