Client Psychology and Motivation
Resolving to become fitter, or to lose weight, means making a change in one’s personal lifestyle. Change can be difficult and often the psychological impact is underestimated. Many individuals fall by the wayside, however well-intentioned they may be. Having a good understanding of the psychological aspects of change is an important skill which enables you to help your clients achieve their goals.
If you have a good understanding of the psychological aspects of change you can then go on to develop a range of tools that will help you support your clients in their efforts to reach their goals. This course covers the core knowledge requirements for behaviour change outlined in the occupational standards for NVQ Level 3 in Instructing Physical Activity and Exercise.
This online course will give you the freedom to learn in the comfort of your own home. You will learn how people change and learn a range of skills to support your clients through change.
Research has shown that in order for people to effectively lose weight and make lifestyle changes through exercise, they must be psychologically ready. Assessing whether an individual is psychologically ready to make lifestyle changes is a key factor in helping them achieve their goals.
